    <p>Исследована история открытия явления термоэлектронной эмиссии. Рассмотрены работы Шарля Дюфе, Фредерика Гатри и других ученых. Основное внимание уделено открытию эффекта термоэлектронной эмиссии Т. Эдисоном и изобретению им двухэлектродной вакуумной лампы. Проанализированы работы ученых по исследованию эффекта Эдисона, в частности, У. Приса, Дж. А. Флеминга, Ю. Эльстера и Г. Гейтеля, а также Дж. Хауэлла. Показано, что благодаря открытию Эдисона была создана двухэлектродная лампа, которая явилась прообразом вакуумного диода Дж. А. Флеминга.</p>

   <trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
    <p>The history of the discovery of the phenomenon of thermionic emission is investigated. The works of Charles du Fay, Frederick Guthrie and other scientists are considered. The main attention is paid to the effect of thermionic emission by T. Edison and his invention of a two-electrode vacuum lamp. The work of scientists on the study of the Edison effect, in particular, W. Preece, J. A. Fleming, J. Elster and H. Geitel, as well as J. Howell, is analyzed. It is shown that, thanks to the discovery of Edison, a two-electrode lamp was created, which was the prototype of the J. A. Fleming vacuum diode.</p>
