EFFECT OF DISSIPATION ON THE DYNAMICS OF KINKS IN THE GENE IFNA 17

Abstract (English):
In this paper, we investigated the influence of dissipation on the dynamics of local conformational perturbations - kinks - in the IFNA17 gene. To simulate the internal mobility of the DNA molecule, we used the sine-Gordon equation with the additional term which imitated the effects of dissipation. To solve this equation, the method of McLaughlin and Scott was applied. The coefficients of the model equation were averaged over the entire sequence of the gene. In this approximation we obtained the time dependences of the kink velocity, coordinate and total energy for three different values of the initial kink velocities: 500 m/s, 800 m/s and 1500 m/s, which did not exceed the sound velocity in DNA.
